I’m not much of a fan of thanksgiving weekend and all the retail hysteria that goes along with it. So, I decided to ride my bike to the coast for a nomadic holiday to escape the madness.
Unfortunately, the weatherman has conspired against me and has brought upon the Pacific Northwest a sheet of ice and snow. This makes it especially dangerous for a cyclist traveling solo since most people in the Portland area have no idea how to drive safely in ice and snow conditions. Sadly, I’m far more concerned about being hit this time of year than me sliding off black ice.
Other plans have been made with the friends that remain in town and I will make preparations so that I can avoid the stores. Oh well. There is other fun to be had.
