Another BikeCraft in the bag! Thank you everyone that stopped by my table for a chat, bought some coloring books or prints. It’s been really great to get feedback from so many people in and out of the bicycling community. It really makes me want to hit up other shows and keep producing more work. Having the event at TaborSpace was far more condusive to a craft show than last year’s show at Bike Farm which isn’t really an event venue at all. There was Continue reading →
During my weeklong roadtrip with @tweetsandchirps, I kept a sketchbook and watercolor travel journal of our experiences and the wildlife we spotted. My full supplies list: Moleskine watercolor journal 5″x8.25″ Sable travel brushes in various sizes Winsor & Newton Cotman watercolor transferred to a generic tin Copic Multi-liner 05 Mechanical Pencil with 0.5mm blue lead I had considerably more art supplies with me for experimentation, but this list is what I ended up using in the travel journal. It’s a project I’ve wanted to do Continue reading →
I just completed 31 days of Jake Parker’s Inktober Challenge by drawing 30+ different internet-famous dogs. Mostly Boston Terriers and Frenchies. What is Inktober? In short, the rules are as follows: Make a drawing in ink (you can do a pencil under-drawing if you want). Post it (Instagram, Twitter, other social media) Hashtag it with #inktober and #inktober2018 Repeat I completed the challenge in 2017 by drawing more animals on bikes and was eager to do it again in 2018. My Theme Well, up until Continue reading →
Finally posting the tour of my August 2017 sketchbook. Let me know what you think. Want to see more?
You can purchase coloring books through my online shop at http://FlyingSnailCreations.com or this weekend at BikeCraft! Cheers
My latest book, Bike Parade Vol 3, will finally be available for purchase at Books with Pictures on Division. Join me this Saturday, December 2 at Noon to color some pages and pick up your own copy for the kids, yourself, or as a holiday gift. If you can’t make it then you’ll find me at BikeCraft on December 15-17. I’ll have all three of my coloring books for sale along with original prints.
Loving the flying fat cats. More works with these puff-balls coming soon.
Trying inking with a Copic multiliner. Please with the results and line variation, but not as organic feeling as using the brush pens. I have a soft spot for robots on bicycles.
This dino demonstrates the important of regular bicycle maintenance.
READ a book? oh. I thought you said EAT a book. I do what I can to inspire anyone to read.
Inktober 2017 is off to a second day. This T-Wrex now has all the powers of longer arms but finds he still can’t scratch his own back. I saw someone using claws like this in the Fred Meyer parking lot. Clever!
It’s the first day of Inktober. I’ll be posting a new inked drawing everyday for the month of October. According to the origin of the Inktober the challenge the rules are as follows: 1) Make a drawing in ink (you can do a pencil under-drawing if you want). 2) Post it online 3) Hashtag it with #inktober and #inktober2017 4) Repeat I’ll be doing a very fast and loose blue-line sketch for my drawings but will fill in more details as I ink. These drawings Continue reading →
